Named GP
All GP surgeries are required by the Government under the terms of the latest GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP.
You will therefore have been allocated a named accountable GP who will be responsible for your overall care. This will be one of our GP’s mentioned in the Practice Staff section. (You can book appointments with any GP).
If you have a preference as to which GP you are allocated, the Practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. If you wish to know which GP has been allocated to you, please ask Reception at your next visit.
Nursing Staff
We have 17 reception staff to answer all your calls, queries and concerns and to book appointments. We have dedicated prescription clerks to take all your prescription requests.
We have 3 secretaries who work closely with the doctors to send your referrals to the hospitals and 7 administration staff to deal with all the other tasks involved with keeping your notes as up to date as possible.
Hartlepool and Stockton Health have developed a new Care Coordinator team who will work alongside your GP to signpost you with services and benefits available locally to support you with your health and wellbeing concerns.
It is felt many patients may be missing out on helpful services that they qualify for and would be interested in, simply because they do not know what is available.
The Care Coordinators will make sure that everyone has access to the things that would improve their health and wellbeing, and will help you to take advantage of anything that they feel would make a difference to you.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
